Key can be requested through a representative in your department called a "security delegate". Each department has one or more security delegates who gather the required information and submit an approved request to the Police Department to have key issued to you.

Each department has one or more security delegates. They are usually suite secretaries, faculty, division heads and department heads.

If you are still unsure of the security delegate for your department, you can contact the locksmith by calling 281-283-2230 or emailing locksmith@uhcl.edu and we will assist you in locating your security delegate.

Yes, you can request access to multiple spaces, but each request must clearly list all rooms or buildings and must be approved by your department’s security delegate. Each key will be issued based on approval and availability.

No — unless the request is for the same door or space. Separate work orders are required for different locations.

All lost or stolen keys and access cards must be reported immediately to the Access Control Office. If your key or card has been stolen, you are required to provide a police report number from the law enforcement agency where the theft occurred. This ensures proper documentation and helps maintain campus security.

To begin the replacement process, please fill out the following form: https://forms.office.com/r/9924pDGaFQ

When you change departments or separate from the university, you are required to return all issued access credentials, including keys and access cards, to the Access Control Office.

A clearance form will be provided to you by HR. Once we have received your keys, we will sign and return the form. You are also welcome to bring the form with you when you return your keys in person.

If you were never issued any keys, we will verify this in our system. Once confirmed, we will sign and return the form through our work order system.
